Great Start to Sunday XIs season

A glorious Sunday afternoon brought the splendidly attired gentlemen of Farningham up against Westerham 1st XI. Graeme Freedman and Steve Sands set up a faultless opening partnership of 128 before Graeme was bowled off a a high full toss for 53. Steve went on to make 64. Daniel Barker hit a quick fire 24 NO and FCC ended the day on 196 for 6 off 40 overs.
Jacko and Daniel opened the bowling with an economic start before Daniel made an acrobatic C&B to remove the opener for a duck. The ever-youthful Chucker continued to bowl meanly and dismissed their middle order very cheaply (3 wkts for 9 runs off 6 overs)! Roy playing his first match for FCC pulled off a couple of great catches, one being a one-handed pluck from the sky. FCC continued to field and bowl well with Sweep Dave and Matt pulling off some more good snaffles. Spoons and Mark then got the next 3 wickets before the skip came in for last couple of overs to finish the opps off with Graeme taking a great catch in slips. FCC winning by a margin of 79 runs with 8 overs spare.
A great all round performance on a wicket that had delivered over 800 runs in 2 days.
