Sunday XI on a roll!

A blustery, warm day met the Sunday teams from Farningham and Lamorbey Park. Having won the toss, Farningham elected to bat first. The wicket proved to be a challenge with the openers being dismissed early, the score on 15 for 2 wkts with Steve Sands taking a blow to the nether regions. However, "Gordon Greenidge" Freedman nursing a calf muscle injury and Sweepy Dave knuckled down and added a 115 partnership before Freedman was out for 56, shortly followed by Sweepy on 54. Nasser and Daniel hit a quickfire 42 between them and FCC finished on a respectable 185 for 5 off 35 overs. FCC bowled well at the Lamorbey Park openers and Lofty and Jamie with figures of 7 overs for 23 runs and 7 overs, 2 wkts for 18 runs respectively. Chucker came into the attack and got a crucial wicket of a troublesome middle order batsman, finishing with figures of 6 overs, 3 wkts for 21 runs. The Barkers cleaned up the tail with 2 wickets apiece, Doc having been smashed to the boundary by K.Hunt off his first ball and Junior Doc shortly replying by having him caught behind with only their umpire hearing the nick. LPCC finsihed with 131 all out, their opener carrying his bat though the innings and ending on 27 runs off 97 balls. Another good performance on the field all round.
