FCC made the short trip to local rivals Eynsford where they achieved a crushing win last season.
Looking for more of the same this year in a bid to avoid back to back defeats, FCC lost the toss and were invited to bat, not the best of starts as the ground was as expected very wet, down to the river the boundary was brought in due to a boggy outfield.
The wicket although green was in much better shape and was not the cause of the disappointment to follow.
The openers were watchful of the new ball swinging every which way, however the wickets didn’t come until the changes. they continued to fall at regular intervals FCC were halted of any momentum, the openers could only reach 11 and 15 the only other resistance came from Adam England (19) and Richard Pallet (17*) it was a disappointing day with the bat for the second week running and it showed in the field, there was no energy and although the bat was consistently beaten chances didn’t follow and FCC were on the end of the same hiding they dished out previously.
FCC will be looking to bounce back convincingly this Saturday 25th will a home game against St Lawrence
